It's crazy how you think you actually meant something to someone, & they just turn around and prove you wrong. My daddy was a Santa Claus at this American school & two incidents he described were unforgettable.
This boy, age 5 or 6, went up to him and sat on his lap, telling him toys & stuff he wanted for christmas. After photo taking with 'Santa Claus' a.k.a my daddy, he went to collect the photo & for some unknown reason, he started bawling his lungs out. Big heartrending sobs & so on. My daddy went over to find out what happened, the boy turned his tear-stained face towards him and said
'I haven't finished telling Santa what I want for Christmas!'. So my daddy let him sit on his lap while the boy finished telling him what he wanted. It took like
a whole fifteen minutes for the list to end. Imagine the
tragedy that'll happen if the boy went home & realised he forgot to add one more item on that impossibly long list of 'wants' of his.
Hilarious.Another incident was one where this Indian girl wanted just one thing for christmas. She told 'Santa' to help her be a doctor. 'Why do you want to be a doctor?'
'Because I want to help my older sister.' It turned out that her sister, two years older, has some illness(don't ask me what, I'm not the doctor).
Touching. One of the worst feelings in the world is having to doubt something that you once thought was unquestionable.
